Crimson Desert. At this stage, it’s essentially a game of everything, so it’s no great shock that the latest update from developers Pearl Abyss pushes Red Pudding further toward becoming a rival to Nintendogs. The number of pets you can tame while exploring Pywel has been steadily increasing since launch, and you can now own up to 100 of them. That sounds dangerously impractical, but hey, it’s a video game.
According to the patch notes, the studio is framing the pursuit of maximum pet ownership as its own unique challenge. We’ve “added reward items for the existing pet challenge that boosts the number of pets you can register,” they murmured as they unveiled the increase in the pet registration cap to 100. In theory, this could let someone own 100 pigeons or loaf-like cats, cementing their status as the ruler of feathered nuisances or flabby felines.
Unfortunately, the notes specify that you can only summon up to 50 pets at camp at any one time, meaning you’ll be able to invite only half of your animal army to a gathering at once. That’s bound to stir up some resentment among the ranks, making the task of leading such a four-legged or two-winged force trickier than you might expect. Better start reading up on Sun Tzu or Machiavelli.
Beyond that, the update introduces a map icon for baby wyverns, and allows secondary protagonists Damiane and Oongka to mess around with mining drills and chainsaws. In another adjustment, any rare equipment you lose will be collected by merchants and resold at higher prices. Finally, Pearl Abyss have tinkered with the pinball minigame they added in another recent update (told you, it’s an everything game). Red Pudding pinball should now be easier, with its balls featuring a slightly heavier feel and a reduced tendency to pass through walls.
