Dead by Daylight

A full decade in, Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight has found a steady cadence of content rollouts and seasonal events, complete with a few surprises. Yet as the asymmetrical horror title moves into its 11th year, significant shifts are on the horizon, such as mod support and a graphical upgrade.
These two major announcements were unveiled during Dead by Daylight’s recent multi-hour 10th anniversary livestream, where Behaviour confirmed that official modding support—enabling user-generated maps and game modes—is slated for 2027. The studio also plans to introduce dynamic weather and a visual refresh aimed at revamping Dead by Daylight’s dated appearance.
Behaviour further revealed the upcoming arrival of Friday the 13th’s Jason (a notable feat given the franchise’s tangled rights history over the years), a fresh original DLC chapter titled *The Life Road* dropping later this month, and another iconic slasher villain, *Terrifier*’s Art the Clown, who will enter The Fog this November. Additionally, a new map inspired by liminal spaces (which seems like a perfect setup for a Backrooms crossover, perhaps) is expected, though it won’t debut until December.
Several cosmetics-only collaborations have also been confirmed, including a collection for metalcore band Ice Nine Kills and the return of Iron Maiden. Skins themed around Silent Hill, The Walking Dead, Diablo 4, and Scooby-Doo are also on the way.
Less attention-grabbing but still noteworthy, August will see the launch of *Chorus of Sin*, which introduces a new original (and celestial) killer, The Judgment, along with a new survivor, Aurora. An in-universe collaboration with Supermassive Games’ Dead by Daylight spin-off *The Casting of Frank Stone* is set for an early 2027 release. Amid all this, Behaviour is promising more events like *The Black Banquet* (running from mid-June to mid-July) and new seasonal rifts (challenge tracks with exclusive rewards) spanning the rest of the year and into 2027.
